ABOUT ME

FIRST AND FOREMOST

My name is Nick. I'm a currently a freelance design lead and all around designer currently using Geneva, CH as base camp. I've been making beautiful things for about 9 years with a many of different and outstanding shops like CP+B, Victors & Spoils, Chapter, Sequence, Grenadier, Teak, and Pearlfisher.

Some of my best work has been done in product, branding, and packaging, but I’ve also had a fair amount of experience in interactive design ranging from one off apps all the way to full blown responsive websites. Additionally have, many times, developed brand new, fresh design languages with accompanying  guides for large national and multi-national brands.

I've gained highest praise in my level of professionalism, my deep understanding of the design process, my ability to extract actionable feedback from clients, and my ability to deliver variety and quality under tight limitations.

I typically don't subscribe to passing trends or "styles". Instead my work is based on deep respect for timeless design principles, fundamental needs for the project and developing a unique and lasting design philosophy for a brand.

MY INTENTIONS

I have serious intentions serve the surf/climb/ski/adventure industry as well as the entertainment industry (film and games). Purpose driven projects and other humane-oriented projects inspire an entirely different energy in me. If the opportunity arises – I've always wanted to try my hand at industrial design. I'm also open to all kinds of other projects in and out of those categories, so approach me with other interesting ideas/collaborations if you see a fit.

Beside that, I'm also an aspiring concept artist for the entertainment industry (movies/games/etc) currently enrolled in CGMA 2D Master Academy (with artwork featured in student galleries). You can find some of that work on Artstation.

Freelance Design Lead

Geneva, CH

Currently I work as a freelance design lead in both
New York City and Geneva, Switzerland. I’ve maintained contracts with agencies including Teak SF, Sequence, Chapter SF, Victors & Spoils, and Pearlfisher, among brands like Smartwool, Facebook, MemSQL, Twitter,
Silent Circle, & Organic Valley in varying capacities. In these roles I’ve grown in skills that otherwise may not have traditionally fit my role while also developing many meaningful relationships with clients & colleagues alike.

Victors & Spoils

Design Lead

At Victors & Spoils I held the role as design lead. A majority of the projects were with food/beverage brands (Vitaminwater, Smartwater, Fruitwater, Driscoll’s, Cabot Creamery, Made in Nature). Through these projects I helped win additional business in the process (Future CocaCola and Glaceau products, Boppy Identity design, etc). I also helped leadership understand the agency's valuable design capabilities and developed a formidable department in the process. I continue to work with the agency regularly as a freelance design lead.

Crispin Porter + Bogusky

Sr. Designer – Sr. Brand Architect

At CP+B I was routinely designing across multiple platforms (print, digital, product, spatial/experiential)
and engaging responsibilities with art direction, writing and strategic thinking. Many of these aspects provided convincing arguments favoring design as a central role
in long term business practices for the given brand. I maintained these responsibilities for many large clients including Papa’s Pilar, Microsoft, American Express, Best Buy, Angel’s Envy, and Coca Cola, among many others.
